Tutor of Holistic Therapies Training
Hello, My name is Helen,
I began my career in the health & wellbeing sector, as a fitness Instructor in my mid 20s (I am now 46). In 2011 I started a wellbeing business, selling naturally sourced aromatherapy toiletries, candles and offering massage and aromatherapy treatments. I continued to train and I qualified in over 25 modalities of holistic therapy including Level 4 Sports Massage, Reflexology, Pregnancy Massage, Baby Massage Instructor Trainer, Reiki and Stress Management. In 2014 I completed my City & Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, to be able to teach in my field.
In June 2015 I was lucky enough to become a freelance tutor for Holistic Therapies Training Academy.
Working as part of a team of tutors and covering the South West Devon area, I am responsible for teaching a wide range of complementary therapy and wellbeing courses and workshops, including stress management and coaching courses.
I have been an adult (16-25) foster carer for the last 5 years so have a good understanding of working with young adults with challenging behaviour and difficult backgrounds.
I have first hand experience of working with children and adults on the autistic spectrum and can understand the challenges that this might bring in a family dynamic.
I started my coaching journey in 2016 after going to London on a NLP & coaching weekend, I was hooked. Since then I have qualified as a certified coach and I am a member of the Association for Coaching, currently working towards executive coach level. I have been running my Coaching Practice alongside my teaching roles for just over 2 years. I draw on my experience and knowledge of physical, mental & spiritual wellbeing, and bring it into my coaching practice.
I am also due to qualify as a therapeutic counsellor in June 2021 and am excited for this element to complement my work as a complementary therapy teacher and coach. This journey has also sparked a passion for knowledge about the human condition and personal development as well as expanding my area of expertise it goes some way to completing the cycle of knowledge between mind, body and spirit for me.
Here are just some of my current particular areas of interest:
Human behaviour, self-care, mental & physical health, happiness, imposter syndrome, overcoming fear and conquering challenges, building self–esteem & confidence, working creatively, business development, communication skills and relationships.
I currently split my time between several health and wellbeing projects, teaching and coaching.
I recognise that the quality of the relationship between coach and client or the teacher and student is the foundation for successful outcomes.
I am married with two teenage children, my family is my number 1 priority including my two dogs (aged 1) Sandy & Humphrey. (That’s Humphrey in the picture)
I am a sociable, bubbly person, who loves a challenge and loves to meet new people.
I enjoy the following interests:
· Walking my dogs
· Spending time with my family
· Cinema & Theatre
· Planning & Organising
I very much look forward to meeting you,
